Seminars and Support Groups in June 24

We’ve a busy month planned at Tio. We’d love to see you at one of these events.

Caring Families

Are you the parent/family-carer of a child or adult who has intellectual disabilities or additional needs? Are you ever anxious, isolated or discouraged by of a lack of support and understanding? Do you carry fears, pain, questions that you find hard to express? Do you long for other people to see your child the way you do and love them as a result? Would you like to chat with people who might understand? If so, Caring Families – a support group for parents/family-carers of children and adults with intellectual disabilities and additional needs – offers a safe, welcoming space to meet others, chat and find support. Each group meeting will begin with prayer and a Scripture reading. The rest of the time, the floor will be open for sharing experience, questions, hopes and ideas. We’ll be meeting on Zoom on 10th June at 7.30-8.30/9.00pm. Register with eventbrite link.

Christians, parents and clergy often struggle to think clearly and confidently about how people who do not have capacity to understand the words of Scripture and the propositions of our faith might meaningfully encounter and be encountered by God.
This is the topic of this online seminar, led by Dr Jill Harshaw on 17th June at 7.30pm. Register through this link with eventbrite.
